Beauty leads to obsession and I can't find enough beauties in Skoonheid to make me obsessed with it. Skoonheid is a character-based film that has only one prolonged plot. With the way it's presented, I am disconnected. I cannot engage to the lead characters. I do like its basic idea about the hidden obsession of a seemingly nice man, but the content of the film is not gripping enough. It is indeed an effective film, but for me, perhaps it's too effective.
